With hand-planed moldings, mitered feet, dovetailed drawers,
full dust panels, a shiplapped pine back, and reproduction drawer hardware, this piece was made almost exactly as
it could have been made in the 18th century. Because I built the nightstand with wood left over from other projects
and the color and grain of the maple wasn’t uniform, I painted it
(Old Fashioned Milk Paint Soldier Blue, with several thin coats of wiping varnish).
